Maa Bagalamukhi: Gain her grace for a powerful Mars through Astrology Consultation

The Shakt school of Hinduism worships Shakti or the Primordial Mother or power of nature as the Supreme Guardian of the cosmos. The Dasa Mahavidya are the Tantric offshoot of the Shakt school. They worship Devi as Dasa Mahavidya or ten wisdoms.

Each Mahavidya is a step of the spiritual ladder. Every Devi in the tapestry has a particular Siddhi or superhuman power which is rewarded to the devotees when he reaches that Mahavidya.

Devi Bagalamukhi is the eighth Mahavidya. She is known for the power of stumbhan or stunning or paralysis. She stuns the speech or actions of the opponents, bad thoughts or obstacles. She delivers justice in both Karmic and Legal battles.

Maa Baglamukhi can freeze harmful forces and send negative energies back to where they came from, just like a crane stands still before striking.

Maa Bagalamukhi: Unleash the fate flipping power of Mahavidya

Maa Bagalamukhi is the eighth Mahavidya. She is one of the advanced Mahavidya. Devotees reach her during the final stages of Kundalini awakening.

She is ferocious and likes to wear yellow clothes. Her complexion resembles the bright color of molten gold. Yellow is connected with intellect, purity and richness. So, the Devi is the embodiment of wisdom, serenity, and abundance.

She is sitting on the throne of mrit sanjeevani herbs. Mrit sanjeevani is the herb of revival of the dead. Revival of the dead is a symbolic way of saying destroying old karmic patterns to bring new beginnings. Her worship destroys old karmic patterns, gives a shield against enemies, and gives powerful speech.

In some depictions she is seated on a thousand petaled lotus. Lotus is a symbol of knowledge and purity. She bestows the devotees with rare esoteric knowledge.

In Vedic Astrology each Mahavidya is a Devi manifestation of the energy of a certain planet. Worshipping a particular Mahavidya negates the effects of an afflicted or weak planet in your birth chart

According to Jyotish astrology Devi Bagalamukhi is the energy of Mars. She is ready to strike and fight. But she also gives stambhan or a strategic pause before the fatal wallop.

Her blessings strengthen the qualities of mars in your personality in case one has a debilitated, weak, or afflicted mars in their birth chart.

Let's begin with a phrase of kavacham

Maa Bagalamukhi kavach or the armour of hymns dedicated to Maa blesses the native with protection from negative forces and enemies.

शिरो मे बगला पातु हृदयैकाक्षरी परा ।
śiro me bagalā pātu hṛdayaikākṣarī parā ।

The head is protected at all times, by the secret spells and most potent weapon (brahmāstra) invoking Divine Mother Bagalā (Valagā)

Maa Bagalamukhi: Beyond Vedic astrology reading, In the context of Tantra and Kundalini

For the devoted Tantra Sadhak, Maa Baglamukhi Jayanti is a “golden” opportunity to cross another milestone of spiritual journey. Devi is the energy of Stambhan. An abrupt and total stillness or paralysis.

In the spiritual realm this is connected with the complete stillness of the monkey mind. For more refined practitioners, Stambhan is paralysing the ego. Ego creates pride which screens the audience with the divine. A stunned ego lets the Sadhak unite with the Sacredness without any obstacle.

However some experts claim that Stambhan is also associated with the immobilisation of the karmic patterns. The karma keeps the soul bonded with Samsara or mundane life which is full of suffering and death. When the Karma freezes the soul can take a new path of penance and reach the Divine.

For the Kundalini practitioners, Maa Bagalamukhi is associated with the Vishuddhi Chakra. It is in the throat and is related to speech and communication. A blocked Vishuddhi Chakra gives communication interruption. It dulls the skill of expression through the spoken words.

Maa Bagalamukhi sharpens the communication skills and grants rich vocabulary to the worshippers. She bolsters the Vishuddhi Chakra and propels the Kundalini ahead of the Vishuddhi Chakra.

Struggling to communicate with your partner? That tension has a pattern, and your birth charts hold the answer. Book a birth chart relationship compatibility reading with Ekktaa and turn confusion into clarity, before distance becomes a habit.

Legends of Maa Bagalamukhi

There are two popular legends about the incarnation of Devi in Hinduism.

A) Haridra Sarovar: Emergence from Turmeric Pond

In Satya Yuga or the age of truth, an apocalyptic storm was engulfing the universe. The Deva went to Lord Vishnu for refuge. Lord Vishnu who was unable to abate it, started an arduous penance, on the banks of Haridra Sarowar.

Lord Vishnu cried out to the Divine Mother for her mercy. Hearing his prayers, the Goddess Bagalamukhi surfaced out of the Haridra Sarowar. This day is commemorated as her Jayanti.

Haridra means turmeric in Sanskrit. She was wearing yellow attire and had a golden complexion. She was adorned with gold ornaments.

To highlight her association with yellow she was addressed as Pitambara or the Devi who is clad in yellow garments.

She immediately brought stambhan or immobilized the storm saving the creation.

B) Demon Madam: Controlling the tongue

Once a Demon called Madan undertook great austerities. As a result he was rewarded with Vaaksiddhi. Vaaksiddhi is a boon of speech where every word uttered by the speaker becomes true.

However, he started misusing the boon by harassing innocent people. So, the Gods prayed to Maa Bagalamukhi to stop his nuisance.

Devi answered the prayers. She held the tongue of the Demon ending the devastation caused by his Vaaksiddhi. She used stambhan or immobilization before killing him. In his last moments the demon prayed to be worshipped with her.

So, Devi is always portrayed controlling the Demon Madan.

C) Maa Bagalamukhi

Maa Bagalamukhi is also worshipped by householder devotees for seeking success in legal disputes, competitive exams, and success in business rivalry.

She is worshipped for speedy recovery in grave diseases. Her stambhan power is invoked to obstruct the progression of diseases.

Maa Bagalamukhi is known to bless the devotees with clarity in communication. Thus, she is often prayed to remove miscommunication in relationships and heal them.

But before praying to the Devi you must get a vedic astrology reading of your natal chart by a skilled vedic astrologer like Ekktaa. She has done deep research in traditional culture, Hinduism and Vedic Jyotish and guides the seekers to worship the most suitable manifestation of Devi depending on their natal chart.

Maa Bagalamukhi Worship: How to attain her mercy for the ordinary householders

  • The householder devotees who want to attain the grace of Maa Bagalamukhi should pray to her on her Jayanti.

  • The devotees should wake up early, take a shower, and wear neat yellow garments.

  • They should offer Devi yellow flowers, turmeric paste, yellow fruits, yellow garments, and yellow sweets.

  • Additionally the believers can visit her Temples or Shrines to offer their respect.

Please Note : However, the devotees should not worship her without the guidance of a spiritual mentor. She is a fierce energy which is hard to channel by ordinary people.

ShaktiDham: ShaktiPeeth of Maa Bagalamukhi

A) Maa Bagalamukhi Temple, Kangra

This temple traces back its origin to Shri Rama. It is said in this temple complex Lord Ram performed a havan to gain victory over Ravan.

Maa Bagalamukhi was pleased with Lord Rama and gave him Brahmastra

B) Maa Bagalamukhi Temple, Nalkheda

This is a 300 years old temple on the banks of Lakundar river.  Here devotees come for Shatru Nashak puja. A special prayer to gain victory over enemies.

Conclusion

Maa Bagalamukhi demonstrates the importance of stillness in this overly noisy world. Stillness in every sphere of life gives us a chance to reclaim that energy. Stillness in mind imparts clarity. Stillness in the body gives us a healthy sleep. Stillness in the surrounding boosts productivity.

Maa Bagalamukhi also rewards the worshippers with karmic stambhan or stillness in karmic pattern. This is the one of the best rewards for her devotees because old karmic cycles lose their grip, and the soul starts its quiet journey to freedom.

Maa clearly conveys that stillness is sometimes more important than action especially when the situation is beyond our hands.

Author's Introduction

This enlightening piece was penned by Smt Ekktaa. She is a Vedic astrologer and researcher from Pune. Ekktaa believes that astrology is not a static subject that calculates the degrees of stars to tell the future. It is but a symbolic presentation of the divine plan for the soul to follow.

Vedic Wisdom:

Through deep research and study of the Dash Mahavidyas, Ekktaa shares how natives with an afflicted Mars in their chart - often battling inner turmoil, anger, and mental unrest, can find healing through Maa Baglamukhi's sadhana.

Maa Baglamukhi's Healing for Anxiety, Intrusive Thoughts, and Inner Turmoil

When your thoughts become your worst enemy, Maa Baglamukhi steps in, not just to fight the world outside, but to still the war raging within.

Her energy works on the deepest level of speech, not just what you say out loud but also the voice inside that won't stop talking. The one that makes you anxious, plays out the worst-case scenarios, and tells you things about yourself that aren't true.

When one does her sadhana, that inner voice quiets down, and the anxious spiralling slows down. Thought loops that are too strong break. The constant self-criticism doesn't just get quieter; it stops.

This is why Her worship was never just about winning fights or court cases. It was always meant for people who are fighting their own minds. Real stillness starts from the inside.
