According to Bhagavata Purana, among the 25 Lila Avatars of Lord Vishnu, Devarishi Narada Muni is revered as the second incarnation.
Narada Muni is believed to be a great storyteller, possessing knowledge of three realms and serving as a guide to many important personalities in Hindu Dharma.
He helped many individuals attain their goals, including the great author of Hindu Dharma Valmiki and Ved Vyasa. Under his guidance, devotees like Dhruva and Prahlada also attained spiritual enlightenment.

According to Bhagavata Purana, Lord Brahma suggested Narada Muni to settle down and expand his lineage, but Narad Muni refused his advice. Lord Brahma cursed him for leading the life of Gandharva for one Kalpa
Due to the effect of the curse, he was born as a graceful celestial singer named Upabharhana.
Once, King Daksha organised a sankirtan festival in honour of Lord Vishnu. Upabarhana participated in the festival; however, he got distracted by celestial dancers and began singing inappropriate songs, praising demigods instead of Lord Vishnu. In anger King Daksha and other Prajapatis cursed him. The tale continues, and he was again born as the son of a maidservant, but his mother was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu.
Narada Muni did not receive any formal education, instead, he assisted his mother in her work. Fortunately, his mother was engaged in serving saints, sages and Acharyas; Narada too indulged in serving sages and saints and through her, Narada also had the opportunity to serve them.
He listened to their sacred chants, the glories of Lord Vishnu and spiritual teachings. In this holy association, he also ate the remnants of their food. Through this holy association, he too became a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu and gradually attained spiritual wisdom. After the early demise of his mother, Narada set out in search of enlightenment. Through intense austerities and meditation, he eventually experienced a divine vision of Lord Narayana.
The Lord appeared before him with a gentle smile and instructed him that he would not be able to see Lord Vishnu's divine form again in that lifetime. He explained that this brief vision would intensify Narada's longing and devotion for him.
Following this divine encounter, Narada dedicated his entire life to devotion, meditation and the worship of Lord Vishnu. After Narada's death, Lord Vishnu blessed him with his divine form as Narada; he is considered as a Shaktyavesha Avatara, a partial manifestation of Lord Vishnu, endowed with the ability to carry out divine tasks, as the representative of Lord Vishnu.
Narada Muni was an expounder of Bhakti Yoga and Vedic astrology; he is regarded as an Acharya of Vedic astrology, Nadi jyotishya, and Akashik Records.
Without Narada Muni, a lot of Hindu text would not have existed. Some of the famous work credited to Sage Narada includes:

Narada Muni is often regarded as the first journalist of Hindu dharma, known as a celestial messenger of Puranic times. In many places, felicitations celebrations for journalists are organised to honour Devarshi Narada.

On the occasion of Narada Jayanti, Smt Ekktaa further highlights Narada Muni’s hidden role in Jyotish astrology:
Narada Muni is not merely a figure of the Puranas but is a source of authority of Jyotish itself. One of the important texts of this tradition is the Narada Samhita. His energy maps directly to Budha (Mercury) at its highest communication that serves dharma, with intellect wired for devotion and ability to connect what others can’t.
A well-placed Buddha (Mercury) in any chart carries this signature: the messenger, the synthesiser, the bridge between knowing and transmitting
He also represents the peak of the 5th house energy in a birth chart – poorva punya, mantra siddhi, and divine intelligence, all working together. Look for a strong 5th house with good Jupiter-Mercury connections, and you have Narada’s thumbprint on the chart.
Your chart holds answers to how your career will further shape. If my career according to astrology is the question on your mind, your Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter placements and the 10th house hold the answers.
