Sita Navami 2026: Spiritual Insights and Astrology Consultation

Where there is Sita, there is Ram. They are not separate but expressions of the same divine truth. To gain the blessings of Lord Rama, one must receive the grace of the divine feminine energy, Devi Sita.

She is known as the epitome of purity and virtue. For generations, Devi Sita's presence has stood as a symbol of strength, resilience, compassion, and loyalty.

On Sita Navami, let us explore more about Devi Sita under the guidance of Smt Ekktaa, a professional astrologer and numerologist.

Goddess Sita

The Valmiki Ramayan is not complete without Sita. She is the supreme example of an ideal woman, wife and mother. She chose to leave the world when her dignity was questioned.

Sita, the goddess of beauty and devotion, was the wife of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Shri Vishnu. She herself is known as the incarnation of Devi Lakshmi.

Devi Sita is known for her loyalty, devotion and sacrifice. For Hindus, she has shaped and inspired feminine strength and continues to guide people on the right path.

Beyond the Story We Were Told

Most of us know Sita Maa as the devoted wife of Lord Rama, the central feminine presence in the Ramayana. But Vedic tradition holds a far more expansive understanding of her. Sita is Bhudevi , a form of the earth goddess herself. She is Shakti in her most composed, grounded, and sovereign expression. She did not arrive through ordinary birth; she arose from the earth, which in Vedic cosmology is considered the most patient, enduring, and nourishing of all forces.

Sita is not passive. She is the embodiment of Dharma Shakti , the power that holds righteous order together. Without her presence in the Ramayana, there is no story. Without her steadiness, there is no test for Rama's devotion. Without her fire and yes, she walked through fire, there is no proof of truth. She is not a supporting character. She is the axis.

Vedic texts describe her as Janaki (daughter of Janaka), Maithili (from the kingdom of Mithila), and Vaidehi, one who has transcended the body. Each name reveals a layer of her consciousness. She is simultaneously rooted in the earth and free from attachment to it.

Meaning of Sita Navami - Gain direction through Vedic Astrology reading

The birth anniversary of Goddess Sita is celebrated as Sita Navami. Sita, originally named Janaki, the daughter of Bhumi (the earth) and the adopted daughter of King Janak.  Her name "Sita" comes from the Sanskrit word "Seet", which means "furrow", because she was found by King Janak while ploughing the field.

After her marriage, Sita accompanied Lord Rama into exile for 14 years. Where her struggles began, yet with her virtues and divine strength, she remained resilient.

Even though she was a princess, her life was not free from pain and suffering. This reveals that even a queen, despite her wealth and privilege, must face hardships.
In human life, challenges are inevitable, no matter who we are. We all have to go through certain difficulties, karmic lessons and emotional phases.

But ancient Vedic astrology can help you identify potential challenges related to your health, family, relationship, career and other areas of your life.

Why Sita Navami is celebrated with devotion and reverence

Called Janki, Bhumija, Vaidehi and Maithili, these names reflect her true essence. Our Vedic texts represent Goddess Sita as a silent yet powerful force, a steady, calm and nurturing mother.

Her symbolic birth was heavenly written; she emerged from the earth embodying the qualities of patience, endurance and strength.

She is not merely an ideal woman but also a symbol of Shakti, the divine feminine energy. An extraordinary example of her divine strength can be seen in her childhood. When she was just five years old, she playfully lifted the mighty Pinaka bow of Lord Shiva with her left hand, revealing her immense strength as Shakti. This was no ordinary event. It was believed that no one could lift the bow. Witnessing this incredible moment, King Janaka took a vow that only the one who could string this divine bow would be worthy of marrying Sita.

Story of Sita

Goddess Sita emerged from the Earth. She was found by the king Janaka of Mithila while he was ploughing the land as part of a sacred Yajna ritual.

When Sita reached adulthood, King Janaka organised her swayamvara, which was won by Rama. After their marriage, Goddess Sita went to Ayodhya with Lord Rama. However, Lord Rama's stepmother Kaikeyi demanded that he be exiled for 14 years.

When Lord Rama was sent into exile, Mata Sita chose to accompany him with his younger brother Lakshmana. During their exile, the three of them began living in the Dandaka forest.

One day, Ravana, the powerful king of Lanka, deceitfully abducted Mata Sita and took her to Lanka.

Later, Lord Rama fought a great battle against Ravana and eventually rescued Mata Sita. Even after enduring so much suffering, the hardships in her life were not over. After completing 14 years of exile and returning to Ayodhya. A man in the kingdom questioned Devi Sita's purity. To maintain the dignity of the kingdom, Lord Rama asked Sita to undergo the Agni Pariksha to prove her innocence. Lord Ram sent Sita into exile once again. She took refuge in sage Valmiki's ashram, where she gave birth to her sons Luv and Kush.

Years later, when Sita returned to Ayodhya, she was once again asked to prove her purity. At that moment, Sita requested her mother, Bhudevi (mother earth), to take her back, and she descended into the earth. The place is now known as Sita Samahit Sthal in Sitamarhi, Uttar Pradesh, India, where the earth is said to have split open.

The significance of Goddess Sita:

In the epic Ramayana, Goddess Sita holds a profound and sacred place. It is believed that Shri Ram resides in the pure and divine character of Sita. According to the Vedas, through Devi Sita's blessings and compassion, one can experience the divine presence of Shri Ram.

Vedic Wisdom: What Most People Don't Know About Sita Maa

Ekktaa is a staunch believer in Sanatan Dharma. Through her years of experience, spiritual wisdom and research, she shares insightful and lesser-known facts of Devi Sita to enlighten the readers of Ekohumm.

Most know Sita as Rama's devoted wife, but the Vedas reveal something far more expansive. Sita is a Swayambhu – self-arising, not born of a womb but emerging from the earth itself, making her a direct manifestation of Bhudevi, the earth goddess.

The Adbhuta Ramayana, a lesser-known Vedic text, shows Sita in a startling light: she transforms into Mahakali to slay the thousand-headed Ravana when Rama himself cannot. This is the Sita that tradition rarely speaks of – sovereign, fierce, and ultimately beyond rescue. She is not saved. She saves.

Her Agni Pariksha was not a test of purity but a demonstration of Agni's own reverence for her. Fire that could not touch the one who was truth itself. On Sita Navami, we honour not just her grace, but her complete and uncontainable power.
